Trifles – A Feminine Psychoanalytic Drama

 

“Trifles” is a reknown drama of Susan Glaspell and it is about a mysterious murder case, where the gender roles play a vital part in solving the mystery. The story of this drama starts on a winter day in a gloomy kitchen of the deserted Wright residence, where three men, accompanied by two women visit to investigate the murder of Mr. Wright, where the usual suspect is Mrs. Wright, who remains locked up away in supervision throughout the entire drama. Here the county Attorney, the Sheriff, and Mr. Hale enter the Wright residence accompanied by Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters to look for clues that can lead the men towards the murderer.   Continue reading
